Pomegranate | Incense Holder
A one of a kind incense holder as an ode to the pomegranate.
Throughout the mediterranean, the pomegranate has been a symbol of the underworld mysteries - of the expansive place we can find when plunging into darkness and what lies within. Its many seeds also represent fertility and luck, and are used in ritual still today.
All of the incense holders in this series are formed slowly and entirely by hand, using wild clay sourced in the mountains nearby me, here in Crete. They have been smoked in a ceremonial bonfire which has given each of them unique smoke marks.
